Tinko Eftimov

Tinko Eftimov received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Engineering Physics from the Department of Quantum Electronics at the Faculty of Physics, Sofia University “St. Kl. Ohridski”, Bulgaria in 1982. He received his Ph.D. degree in Physics from the Applied Physics Department at the Technical University in Sofia in 1989. Dr. Eftimov worked as a researcher and senior assistant professor at the Communications Laboratory, Helsinki University of Technology (1990-91), he was on an NSERC postdoctoral research fellowship with the Optoelectronics Laboratory at UQO, Gatineau, Canada (1991-1993), product engineer at JDSUniphase Corp., Nepean, Ontario (1997-2001), senior assistant professor at the Technical University of Sofia, professor at UQO (2002-2005), professor at the Faculty of Physics (2006-2016). His main fields of interest are polarization matrix methods, optical fibers, fiber optic sensors and components, sensor interrogation instrumentation and fluorescence studies.
