Aleksandra Czapla

Aleksandra Czapla was born in Warsaw in 1982. She received her Master of Science degree and Engineer diploma in optoelectronics from the Faculty of Physics at Warsaw University of Technology (WUT), Poland, 2006. She is currently working towards achieving her Ph.D. degree at WUT (since 2006) and at Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO) in Canada (since 2008). For the last 4 years, her research activities have been focused on applications of fiber optic sensors and sensor systems. Her main activities focus on experimental and theoretical research on photonic liquid crystal fibers and on long period gratings. She was awarded the Scientific Ph.D. Scholarship from the Warsaw University of Technology and the "Merit Scholarship for Foreign Students" founded by the Ministère de l'Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport du Québec.
