Biography
Gerd Stumme Prof. Dr. Gerd Stumme
is since 2004 Full Professor of Computer Science at the University of
Kassel, Germany, where he is leading the research group on Knowledge
and Data Engineering (KDE) at the University of Kassel. The KDE group
is running the Web 2.0 publication management system BibSonomy. In
1999/2000 Gerd Stumme was Visiting Professor at the University of
Clermont-Ferrand, France, and Substitute Professor for Machine Learning
and Knowledge Discovery at the University of Magdeburg in 2003. He
published over 120 articles at national and international conferences
and in journals, and chaired several workshops and conferences. Gerd
Stumme has a long history of research within Formal Concept Analysis,
starting with his Diploma thesis in 1994. His current research areas
are Knowledge Discovery, Information Retrieval, Web 2.0, and Semantic
Web.
